Strong may have played with the Chicago American Giants in 1913, and later played for the South Bend Colored Giants.4

Strong was the manager of the upstart Indianapolis A.B.C.'s in 1937. The team's performance was mediocre, and he did not return to manage the club 1938.

Strong was the father of professional players Ted Strong and Othello Strong.

1 Strong's WWI Draft Card gives his birth year as 1891. However, Ted Strong Jr.: The Untold Story of an Original Harlem Globetrotter and Negro Leagues All-Star by Sherman L. Jenkins gives his birth year as 1894. Based on the 1900 census, in which he is listed as 9 years old, 1891 appears to be more likely.
