Sterling Stalsworth

Sterling Christopher Stalsworth, born March 9th, 19081 in Sweet Home, AR,2 was a Negro league baseball player with the Little Rock Grays.

Biography

Stalsworth was the son of John D. Stalsworth and Minnie (nee Smith) Stalsworth and grew up in Little Rock, AR.3 He later lived in Kansas City, MO.4 5

Stalsworth played with the Little Rock Grays in the 1931 Negro Southern League.6 He was expected to rejoin the team in 1932.7

Stalsworth died on Novemeber 17th, 1964 and was buried in Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery in Fort Leavenworth, KS.8

2 Missouri Separation Notice. Birthplace is actually listed as "Sweet Rose," but it seems likely that this is a mistaken transcribing of Sweet Home.
