Louis Cato

Louis M. Cato, born November 23rd, 1907 in Greenbrier, AR, was a professional baseball player from 1927-1933. He was the brother of Fred Cato and the cousin of Leon Cato, Morley Cato and Travis Cato.

Biography

Cato later played with the House of David baseball team in the mid 1930s. He died on november 23rd, 2001 in New Port Richey, FL and was buried in East Shady Grove Cemetery in Greenbrier, AR.

"CATO , LOUIS M., 94, of Bayonet Point, died Friday (Nov. 23, 2001) at Hernando-Pasco in New Port Richey. Born in Greenbrier, Ark., he came here in 1974 from Indianapolis. He was a retired sales manager in the meat packing industry with over 30 years of service. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Indianapolis, member of the House of David Baseball League and the Beacon Woods Men's Golf League. He was Presbyterian. Survivors include a son, Jerry Mac Cato , London, England; a daughter, Judith Fowler, Noblesville, Ind.; a brother, William Cato , Little Rock, Ark.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren."1
