Loid Rainwater

Loid C. Rainwater, born August 30th, 1870 in Panola County, MS1 , was a professional baseball player with Morrilton in the 1894.

Not to be confused with his brother Wood Rainwater, who was at one point captain of the Morrilton team2 .

Loid was also secretary-treasurer of the team3 .

It seems unlikely that Rainwater actually played with Morrilton in league games.

"[Morrilton] Captain Flynn sent in Morrilton's own, into the Rainwater game [against the Van Buren Browns]."4

"Rainwater did most of the tossing for the team last year, but he has not got his arm in shape yet and will cover second base [for Morrilton]."5
