Ira McCarroll

Ira McCarroll ("Sleepy"), born June 16th, 1911 in McCrory, AR,1 was a Negro League baseball player durings the 1930s with the Little Rock Stars and the Dubisson Tigers.

Biography

McCarroll was the son of Alvertis McCarroll Sr. and Carrie (nee McPhearson) McCarroll. He grew up near McCrory, AR and later lived in Little Rock, AR for many years.2

McCarroll was a pitcher with the Little Rock Stars in the Negro Southern League in 1933.3 and the Dubisson Tigers from about 1933-1942.

McCarroll died in 1982 and was buried in St. Peter's Cemetery in Normandy, MO.4
