Randolph Prim

Randolph Prim, born November 7th, 1896 in Prescott, AR,1 was a Negro League baseball player.

Biography

Prim was the son of Joe and Ida Prim.2 He moved from Prescott, AR, to Kansas City by 1910,3 and to Salina, KS around 1912.4

Prim played with the Kansas City Monarchs in 1925 and 1926.

Prim died November 26th, 1986 in Salina, KS, and buried in Gypsum Hill Cemetery in Saline.5

"Randolph Prim, 90, formerly of Kansas City, Kan., died Wednesday, Nov. 26, at Kenwood View Nursing Home. Mr. Prim was born Nov. 7, 1896, in Prescott, Ark. He had been a resident of Salina for six years, moving to Kenwood View April 7, 1980. He was a bricklayer and veteran of World War I. He was a member of the Methodist church, a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge and a member of the Bricklayers union. He also had played professional baseball with the Kansas City Monarchs. Survivors included three nieces, Delia Payton of 640 N. Seventh, Evelyn Cooper of Minneapolis, and Lillie Helm of Abilene; and two nephews, William Payton of Los Angeles and Leroy Prim of Salina."6
